What You'll Learn:

• Sinamany as a millinery materials: Sinamay is the most commonly used material for occasion hats - discover its properties and  how it can be manipulated. 
• Blocking the Base: Shape and mould a sinamay base using a wooden hat block to create the perfect foundation.
• Wiring for Stability: Learn how to wire the base to maintain its structure and shape.
• Head Fitting: Sew in a petersham ribbon for a professional and comfortable head fitting.
• Hat Attachments: Explore different ways to secure cocktail hats, from combs to elastic and headbands.
• Trimming Techniques: Master a variety of decorative skills, including:
  • Creating sinamay loops and rolled-edge trims
  • Crafting delicate sinamay flowers
  • Shaping feathers and working with crinoline
• Design and Assembly: Combine all elements to create a unique and stylish headpiece tailored to your personal taste.

Who Is This Workshop For?
This course is an excellent introduction to basic traditional millinery techniques, No prior experience is necessary, although basic hand-sewing skills will be helpful.
